Jared G.

The first day. Things have gone relatively smoothly so far. This morning, we learned how to glue up our boards from pieces of wood, and got that all set up and clamped. It takes 24 hours to set, so we started designing the shapes of our boards. We looked at a bunch of different styles, and chose one (or created our own) to best suit our riding style. We drew our designs up on big white pieces of paper and cut them out so that tomorrow we’ll be ready to saw up our freshly glued boards into the shape we want. We also got our free helmets and were introduced to the helmet design contest. After a busy morning, we went back to the classroom to have a relaxing lunch, and watch a documentary on Dogtown. Today is the easy day, starting tomorrow we’ll have a LOT to accomplish, and will be busy every minute. Part of the group is spending this afternoon silk screening Longboard Collective shirts and making slide gloves. We’re all very excited for the next few days.
