Sam G.
The day started with a packed schedule. We all knew we would be working from the early morning until the end of school. We started with the foundation, our glue-ups. From there, we went to designing our foundations. Since we have to wait 24 hours for our glue to dry, we put down design ideas on paper, creating our templates. After most of the students had finished, Mr. Lavigne introduced the helmet design competition. I’m especially looking forward to this part of the course for its artistic aspect. We took a break for lunch and spent an hour or so finishing up the movie Dogtown Z-Boys. After lunch we went back to shop to finish up the day’s activities. The last two projects to work on were sliding gloves and screening some tees. My sliding gloves were made from old work gloves and small blocks of cutting board. After I’d polished off my creation, some of us headed up to the art room to put down our screen ideas. We have masterfully combined a bear and a ninja into one print, and I can’t wait to make more copies tomorrow!
